After a hiatus!

Okkk, yes , i hear you. Its been long. Its been weeks. And i havent put up any gupshup about our angelic devil (yes its possible). I must admit that i started to write 5 new posts but never really got around to posting any of them. Reasons are varied, i will not bother putting them down.

Dev is now officially a toddler. He is almost 14 months. He walks. And boy, how life has changed. Again.

The lil fella took his first independent steps just hours before it struck midnight on the eve of his birthday. The folklore is true after all. The other surprise came on the other side of 12 that night, Rama maasibua flew down from DC just to spend the day with us. Wonderful, truly truly wonderful. Thanks Rama, it meant a lot.

The birthday was fun. Dev was very well behaved right through both the parties (yes, one for the kiddies & one for the notkiddies). And hence i would like to believe that he had fun. The jungle book theme seemed like a huge hit. Thank you Bhagwanji, for everything! (For pictures, link on the left)

Post one-year birthday and the independence that came with walking, Dev seems to have grown so much. His increasing comprehension of the world around him is astonishing and joyful. I love it. I love how he 'gets' me. I love how he shakes his head from side to side once his tummy is full. The way he dances to Putumayo music. How he loves the swimming pool. The sheer joy on his face when hes in there. I love it. How he goes down to get as close as possible to the teeny-weeny ant passing by on the patio. And how he follows it on his fours, smiling. The way he bends down to look for his ball under the sofa and calls out to us if he cant get to it.
Yes, Dev communicates. Its surprising how he manages to tell us exactly what he wants either with his cute, stubby finger or with his babytalk. I love it. And i cant wait for him tell us more about his ideas & thoughts & opinions about how he views this world. And so much,so much more!

This is fun time.

THE JUNGLE BOOK theme!

so there's a tie; a trip to some place or a big birthday bash!Devma-pa have decided to go ahead with the bash but invites will be sent to little people only.

For the birthday, its going to be THE JUNGLE BOOK theme. Its a book Dev enjoys being read to. And also, from what his parents gather, he a big animal fan.

Take devma-pa's word for it, its so not easy deciding how to celebrate the first birthday. And once that decision is made, its even tougher to get things together. Devma-pa are at their wits end running around in the town of Plano, TX, a place they are not yet well familiar with. They are just hoping that the party is thoroughly enjoyed by Dev and his little friends.

Its at this time that family and friends are missed the most. Devma-pa keep wondering about how different it would be had they been in India. It would definitely be more memorable and enjoyable. And of course with so many hands to help, it would so much easier to organize...!

Lots to do..so shall say goodbye for now

So long!

Of things with the letter "B"

"B says 'baa'; 'baa' forrrrrrrr ......."

Its interesting how Dev has an affinity to things / activities that start with the letter B...ball, balloons, baths, bread, banana, books, biscuits (not necessarily in that order though) ..

He can be well occupied with balls and balloons for a good part of the day which of course is a good thing for devma-pa. He has now invented a game for himself where he pushes the ball with his left arm and then crawls towards only to push it forward once again.Cool eh? Its fun to watch him play this game! And yes also keeps us guessing if he is left or right handed; for most parts its still difficult to say.( The pics are a wee bit old; but few of the best wethink)

As far as baths are concerned, just the sound of water filling up in the bathtub can make him squeal with delight..! He simply loves the water! And gut says that hes going to take to swimming rather easily. We plan to introduce him to the baby pool this summer, we will keep you posted on how that goes. ..

Bananas, biscuits, bread are part of his daily khaane ka menu and he loves them all...yes yes to answer that question its only wheat bread and biscuits!!!...:)...no 'maida' ..

His book collection as on today comprises of 3 books ; one, My little animal book; two, My first alphabet book and third, The Jungle book by Walt Disney. And yes its going to be regularly built by devma-pa.

So there...the connection of the letter B and devbaby!!!

But theres one other big 'B' that is on devma-pa's mind, Dev's birthday!!!!! Its less than a month away and we are still deciding on how we'd like to celebrate it. So lets have a poll, and please DO VOTE, and let us know what you guys think we should do.

Until next week,
buhbaah!

PS : Here are couple of first pictures of the lil fella...

a tad late!

okie, this spot of blog was supposed to be out there exactly 10 months & 25 days ago,ie., just after D's birth but life had a different plan. :P -we like to blame life / fate for things that we dont do!

In anycase, lets start with how D is now! This, one of his latest photos is deceptive. No, he is not as sober and peaceful as he looks. He is one 'totaaaaal badmaash' (as Rama maasibua would say it).

So peoplesss look out for oh-so-exciting weekly updates about D here, with photo-shoto et al.

And as for the months gone by, we will try and squeeze in photos every now n then to make up for it!

Hope all of you can be a part of Dev's life through this effort. And yes please please do write in! We will really appreciate it and ofcourse Dev would too, later when he reads it all.
